I already have my 32G 3G S up an running. I paid $499 to Apple online and it arrived this morning by UPS. I was never able to check my upgrade eligibility before activating the new phone. Now its impossible to do as I get a 11/20/2010 date in response to *639#. I bought my 3G on the first day they went on sale last July. Anybody have a similar circumstance? Am I going to get a $200 refund from Apple?

The same thing happened to me. We signed a two-year contract though so I guess we have to follow it. My father is satisfied with his first-generation iPhone and let me use his upgrade. So now he has to keep his for at least a year and a half.

A customer has every right to complain. It is the customers job to pay his/her bill every month… the rest is on AT&T. If AT&T wasn’t pulling rate hikes and shady business practices, then people wouldn’t complain.

From the UK: I can …
From the UK: I can understand you guys being annoyed at the delays in stuff like mms & tethering. In the UK o2 is making these services available immediately but at a cost, mms’s cost us 4 x txt messages and tethering is around $25 a month at todays exchange rate!
I don’t know why apple bowed to pressure, I agree with their original policy, why send a picture over the cellular network via mms, when you can email a full size picture straight from the phone or upload to facebook for free!?!?!
stop complaining …
stop complaining people. give att credit for making an effort. i’m not happy about the lack of mms, but its not like its not coming at all. i appreciate the effort att made in trying to clarify things even though it was a little late. i’m one the ppl who bought the iphone 3g last july and it says i won’t be eligible for an upgrade until march 2010. i’ll be honest with you, i was bummed but not surprised. wireless companies have been offering upgrades every 2 years for at least the last 5 years.
