Man has been fighting/racing animals since he started domesticating them. But now all over the world soo many people now just see these animals and think they should be, more or less, useless pets and that is simply not what the /dog was bred for.
On the flip side you have to look really hard to find owners of these animals who acctually care for the animal/animals that might die for them, most are just like Michael Vick if not worse.
