How to become a publicist?

By Laura • December 14th, 2009

Are there internships? What should i major in in college? Does a publicist work in a public relations firm?? I want to be a fashion publicist so please help!

I have no clue, but look at these sites:

http://www.degreefinders.com/education-articles/careers/how-to-become-a-publicist.html

How to Become a Publicist (from second link):
"A bachelor degree is a common requirement for those interested in public relations specialist jobs. A degree in public relations is preferred by many employers. However, a degree may be based in business, communications or even journalism, but employers will be looking for candidates with strong communication skills above all else"

With being a fashion publicist I’d take the advice up there, but you may want to look into fashion too. Just so you know what you’re talking about.
