Paid back to the Gov’t from the sale of the stock taken as collateral for the loans given, after the companies begin making money again. Banks are already paying back TARP money and we (the Fed) still have a ton of preferred stock, stock that will gain value as the “maket taxes” (foreclosures, lower sales, lower revenue, higher fuel/healthcare/etcetera costs) begin to lessen and put these back in a position of financial strength. The right wing media and politicians proclaim (loudly) that we have a free market, but in fact they are totally rigging the game. The regulations I advocate just try to level the field.
