All the buildings …
All the buildings built in the 1920s along Michigan Avenue and the river are still there: the Wrigley Building, the Tribune Tower, the Jewelers Building, Mather Tower…. The Board of Trade is still prominent, as is the Civic Opera Building and the Merchandise Mart. Everything’s just MUCH cleaner than it was in the video! You should visit!!

Are any of these …
Are any of these buildings still in Chicago?
I have NEVER been there.

Love the old views …
Love the old views of the skyline, and the snippet of the Potter Palmer house at 7.30. I truly wish that was still around today.

Life seemed so …
Life seemed so simple back in 1948. How times have changed!

I’d like to see the …
I’d like to see the Fitzpatrick Traveltalk series continued today with then and now comparisons of the various locations he visited..

Indeed! I do …
Indeed! I do remember when the Prudential Building was the tallest in the city. And over the years, I held three different jobs in the John Hancock Center. (A small ad agency on the 16th floor, a TV transmitter on the 98th, and a radio station on 13.)

That’s wonderful. …
That’s wonderful. So nice to have a childhood document, no?

As an old Chicago …
As an old Chicago boy, I love this! It was released nine years before I was.
